This is a seldom seen example of a Ball 3L Mason. And as any collector of Ball jars should know, these are typically shoulder seals, but this one obviously has a beaded neck. I've been collecting for years and yet I've never laid eyes on one of these before. This rare jar is in excellent condition. And it does not come with a lid.

Up for sale today is a really nice Antique Original Mason's Patent 1858 Fruit Canning Jar in the Citron Yellow color. What a great color! This jar is a quart size, standing 7" tall, with the base being approx. 3 3/4" diameter. It's got all the bubbles and waviness you want to see in a vintage Mason Jar. Its really in great condition for its age. I find no major cracks or chips, and only some typical light roughness around the mouth. The lid is a later Ball replacement. The bottom has an embossed "B". The bottom also has a slight dent from the molding process, but the jar sits flat - kind of a cool character mark. There is some light rub wear to the bottom as well, and some very light cloudiness to the bottom inside (which you wouldn't even notice when the jar is sitting in your collection).
